Images that get 100 votes will become finalist and have their work featured on the Pixels #Instagram page. On September 15th, a panel of judges will review all of the finalists and pick the winners!
Ghosting Guns is a collection of #digitalphotos in my series #Don'tShoot: site-specific #installations, #paintings, and digital images created out of a desire to discourage violent behavior and its mimicry. I place replicas of #firearms in an interactive setting to call attention to the need for #guncontrol.
The photos, taken with my iPhone, are of a stack of baseball card sleeves, each containing an individual miniature military gun. My art is on the side of life that insists, “Don’t Shoot.” The title is a directive. Presenting guns out of context is my attempt to suspend the malevolent and careless use of deadly weapons.
